I would like to try making mouse bait anyone willing to give thier recipe. Since mice are a main food for yotes and fox it makes sense to use them as bait. Opposum skinner has the secret but like many great outdoorsmen keeps it secret

The wording of your question is a bit confusing. Do you have a collection of mice already that you want to make into a canine bait, or do you want a bait recipe to catch mice with so that you can harvest them to use for making a canine bait?
Just curious.

hounded-Yes, snap traps.
Possum skinner-How in the heck do you get those blasted plastic pans to work? I bought some and they don't work worth a beaver dam. The trigger is so slick on the plastic side and I continuously get snapped on my hand when I am just placing it down on the ground. If I do get it set the plastic pan is pretty much vertically straight up. Seriously, how the heck do you get them to work?
I needed some more rat and mouse traps so I bought some regular metal pans but saw the plastic ones, and knew others have used them, so I picked more of them up. Guess what I have now---100% catch ratio on the metal pans and 0% on the plastic. Go figure.

What would you use to catch that many mice? years back we had farm animals left the cover off a 55 gallon feed barrel one night it was about a third full of grain, next morning had near fifty deer mice jumping around in it man can they jump just not quite high enough, just a thought, plywood top with a hole cut in it so they can jump in but not out should do fine too.

Well, most of the ones I did have got chucked against the wall, cursed at, stomped on, run over, chucked into a fire, and just about thrown into a tornado, so I'll go out to the shed tommorow and mess with the ones that I do have left to see what I was doing wrong.

Lol, I guess the problem was the "dog" seemed too short. To get it to actually stay, I would have to get the plastic pan almost straight up or the dog would just slip out and it would fire whenever it wanted to.
Don't think I got a bad batch because I had bought some in the mouse size and rat size and they both had the same problems. I don't know, it was near the end of the day so I was probably already ticked off and had a short temper and fooling with that just burnt the fuse, lol. I'm probably just stupid.

Lol, we'll see what the day brings. Don't necessarily want to get in a bad mood for "the big game" though, lol.
