I'm going to use the castor, and some glycerine. Mix to a nice paste.
Nothing fancy, but should work great at a castor mound.

You can always add other little scents for this or that.

I agree with Alaskan, only I use propylene glychol instead of glycerine as a preservative. It keeps it from freezing too.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

if you mix it with mineral oil and place it at water level it creates a slick just like oil when it hits the water

a good one would be to mix castors with some anise oil. I also agree to use glycol to keep it from freezing.

Just a tip, don't use castor in a certain place, from a beaver you caught there in the same year. I don't know why but they don't seem to respond the same as they would if it was a strange beaver.

also as the castor ages it gets better for a few years. I have one I made two years ago that I aged until now without opening it. I am confident that it is one of the best lures I have ever seen for beaver.

I use glycerin oil for a base and have never had my beaver lure freeze.
