Was planting watermelons in our bottoms over the weekend and my 3 year old spotted this guy hanging out in the sun on a nearby log. Her first outdoor encounter.

Teach them how to tell the bad ones from the good ones wink

Wouldn't want them trying to handle a copperhead or water moccasin

Exactly. My youngest would grab every snake he saw. Sawa spot on the web of his hand one day what's that from. O it's where I got bit by a garden snake. was his reply.

I was away at work and get txt from my wife youngest was around 8. He was getting ready to grab a snake in the back yard luckily his brother 10 at the time and not prone to grab snakes, was there and stopped him saying " Don't I think that is a bad one let's ask mom". It was a copperhead. It looked like it had an inch so my wife and daughter iched it with a shovel, it looked cold so they warned it in the outdoor burner after that not wanting the boys to get bit by an ichie snake that is protected in my state.

Elsmasho you can may one of those cute and fun thing all of your own . I highly recommend them.

We have had the talk about copperheads. She knows that if she finds any snake to get mom or dad to verify if its a friendly one or not.

It was a good weekend. We shot bb guns, caught some bass and bluegill, planted water melons, collected bugs, and played on the North River sandbars for a couple hours...while dad winched out the buried side by side with a Come-Along..LOL

Cute kids. Great photos!

Remember as a kid we played army and you gave up the fort so the other side got it? Of course you don't. Little kids aren't that stupid.

When my boy was little he watched a lot of Steve Erwin on TV. I was sure to find and let him get bit by little box turtles, salamanders, and a skink at the back door.

Irwin made good TV but he demonstrated no more expertise than Tim Treadwell did in the end
