Not a horse either. Hopefully a longer range paper puncher if it shoots.

CV 600 Alpha. Got it new for a tad over four on an auction before taxes and shipping. Athlon 8x34x56 for the aimer.
Waiting for a few more parts before I start it's training. Got 5 different factory match loads to try. Start shooting as is then bed the action and retry the loads then try bedding barrel if needed then move on to handloads. Be my summer play time.

Saw the light when looked at the ballistics on that 6.5 140° bullets slapped in a 308 capacity case sounds like also known as the 6.5 creedmoor or man bun. wink

I had a custom 260 rem built before the creed came out because of the low recoil and less wind drive ft and drop than 300 win at 1000. Few had heard of it. Then the creed came out exact same ballistics but much better support and sickening marketing.

It is a 6.5 CM. It checks the boxes for a play around tree pulp killer but is limited to that as it's pros. If I bought it to hunt with I'd of went another route.

Say what you will but my 260 has impressed me more on deer than my old 06.

Terminal performance is 99% velocity, energy and bullet design. If those are equal it matters 0 what it was launched from.

I loved my .260.

Had there been the 6.5mm bullet selection there is now, I still might be shooting one.

People can rip on the 6.5s all they want (and I get it, they are maybe over hyped), but they are pretty darn impressive.

Started out wanting a 243/6mm fast twist but figured I'd start out with the 6.5. Already looking for the action for the 243 though.

I like the 6.5 caliber. I have rifles in 6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC, 260 and a 264 WM.

I had a M70 FW in 6.5x55 that I wish I had back.

They just flat work

About as good as as I can do right now
I've heard as I start shooting it, it will naturally start curving around into a bun

Sharon it was spur of the moment. Later I thought of the tail and wish I'd of used it. If nothing else to generate some conversation grin

With this bunch it's always a liability to ask for personal pics....
On a side note that wasn't no artificial insemination picture.... it was genuine spit in the dirt, cowboy ingenuity that created that picture

Not sure about showing you how it's down but will post my results. Will say I've never reloaded a rifle cartridge in my life, so it will be a new adventure when i get to that point. First try a handful of factor loads then start working on the bedding.
Part of the reason I went with the 6.5 CM as it is suppose to easy to load for.

So I deep dived it a little and yeah the development of the creed along with with reamers and all , basically make it ok of those deal where it's kinda hard to not have one shoot decent. It's a lot of gunsmithing mumbo jumbo, talking about shoulder angles distance to lands along with modern bullet tech... I'm not qualified to really explain it but yeah the fact all the rifles are being made with modern more up to date what evers to kinda match the bullets out there just make work.
That being said it's also caused tom problems with people trying to use it the exact same way as older similar cartridges ... But that a big long rabbit hole that I'm not super qualified to talk about
