Well, it's time for my least favorite time of the year, the time when I have to end my fur season. It was a good run this year with ups and downs but in the end, I came out okay. I still have some nest Raider bounty to fill so will be doing that once I get time to set some DPS out. All of my rats but 22 were caught this spring with my biggest day having 55 rats, I caught over 150 rats in 3 checks running around 5 or 6 dozen floats on a 40 mile line. So anyway, enough yapping, here's what you all clicked on this for. This is 285 rats and 1 beaver, forgot to add that in.

Congratulations, you did well. As you age and time starts to appear to go faster, you'll find that next season isn't that far off. In the meantime, do some planning and fishing.

Well young man that looks like a very god season to me You have earned the right to do at least a Little yapping after such a fine result I always felt a bit sad when it came time to selling my fur It was like I had so much effort into catching them I was somewhat reluctant to sell them It is none of my business to tell you what to do But as someone that is ae the end of my time as a trapper I would say that you should keep a journal of your trapping adventures Just a few notes as you see fit to include. I started doing that at the beginning of my trapping efforts And now I can look back over 50years and recall how /when /and where I was successful in my many attempts at jut catching something Congrats on doing much better than just catching some thing

No coyotes this year, the 1 fox that I caught is still at my trapping buddy's house since I had him help me put it up and I didn't want to mess it up being my first one.

Thanks to everyone for all the congratulations and good jobs, I appreciate it! I'm already gathering up my gear for next year, and making a plan to do better. The sale went well, I have a couple of things that irked me but I won't say them on here.

I averaged 2.26$ on rats with a decent bit of mediums and a decent bit of slights, that's why it was so low. I would have liked to get 2.50$-2.75$ but looks like I'll have to pull them just a little tighter next year to get them out of the medium grade. Got some advice that I'm going to use. I also got 18$ a pound for that beaver and it weighed 2 pounds, so 36$ there. I ended up having 286 rats and not 285 so I guess I miscalculated. I ended up with 682$ for it all, so better than most years but I would have liked for my rats to clear 700$ by themselves. Just going to do some different stuff next year to get them to the next size up if possible.

If you decide to make a journal it can be as informal or as precise as you so choose Some days I MAY ONLY record what my catch was for that day Other days I may note the weather condition Or if I see a big buck while checking my line etc
