Been watching an area close to home on a major highway. It's been flooded for many years with a large beaver hut in it. It's been so long all the trees are dead and they have actually moved downstream closer to the river. It is private property. The dams have been dug out several times and always built back the next day. I noticed a for sale sign on it the other day so I went to the shoulder to heck it out as the water level seemed to be down. The water was down about 2 feet but still flooded. The disgusting part is there were 4 30 plus pound beaver floating rotting right next to the major highway for all to see. What a waste and a black eye to those of us that try to keep it clean and out of public view. I know it is perfectly legal to do that but that doesn't make a display like that right. Even if they were going to be discarded it could have been in a more appropriate manner. Just venting.

Skinned or whole beaver? Did someone poison them?

I found 4-5 under water at the boat ramp one spring, someone skun them and discarded the carcass. I pushed them out into the river so someone wouldn’t come along and see them.

I would guess most people driving on interstate are oblivious of their surroundings unless the beavers are floating on their smart phone lol

That's not legal in Missouri, it's illegal to leave a carcass in water ways leading to a river.

They weren’t skinned possibly poisoning but only adults didn’t make much sense not to mention the waste of the fur and castor

I never heard of poisoning beaver and never thought of a 30-40 lb beaver as an adult.

Never trapped, might be disease.

Our eagles would be allover them in an instant. Nothing to see in a few days.....jk
