Two 2019 here, undercoated with oil every other year, paint on both is holding up fine.

They're steel frames. Ford used the weight saved by making the body panels out of aluminum to beef up the frame.

Thank you very much!

I live on the Canadian border and average 120" of snow per year with a lot of salt/sand put down on the roads. My 2015 F-150 (aluminum) looks like new. 1450,000 miles. I do get the frame sprayed at Krown Rustproofing every spring though. My last two F-150's , 1998 and 2005, rotted out at the frame.

I have a 2015 F-150 and have had no issues. Happy with it so far. Paint looks great.

Bottom line is the aluminum body gives you more payload, since vehicle weight is governed. I see lots of aluminum Ford's driving around and they look great. Mine is the last year of steel body f250 so I can't speak personally about paint holding up, but I'll gladly trade a steel body for more payload and more tow capacity.

I hand wash it regularly and have never seen anything wrong there.
