Les,
He put aggressive narrow tires on it like the old Willis' had and that thing will climb a telephone pole and spin like crazy when needed.

He also added a winch to it; which made it pretty much unstoppable within reason.

Hmm I always wrote them off since a friend at work father in law bought one of their new tractors and it broke all the time, sur it was warranty repairs but the down time and transport back and forth was causing them to be very agervated. When the spendal broke off and the front tire came off . That was it after the dealership fixed it that sold the thing off.

They are a small farm family with with several tracks of land but not over 500 acres total. Basically thing broke that would not be breaking on a new tractor.

So it doesn't have a title to get plates and you aren't allowed to have it on the road but you buy it from a tractor place where tractors don't have plates and are allowed on the road?

We plate golf carts now I wonder if we really plate these things too?

Legal on the immediate right hand shoulder in MN accept interstate and State highways I believe. I know a trapper with one and his only complaint is the diesel and cold weather starts.

I’m also 6’4” about 3 years ago when I was still helping with Wildland Fire they brought out a new one for us to demo. They asked me to go try it out and see what I thought. A couple things stuck with me, the gas pedal was plastic which I thought was interesting. I did put it in low gear and proceeded to climb up a hill that most would struggle to walk up. It only took about 10 minutes and dead fall tree to remove the front bumper. I took it back to the station and said this one is broken. Haven’t been around one since.

I wonder if a guy put lights on them if we could scooter plate them here like the side by sides, Kei trucks and 4 wheelers now on the streets? With options added you could be around 20 grand for one I’d get a used jeep before that.

Are air bags required on new vehicles for highway use?

They won’t be plated as a car/truck so those other types of plates won’t require auto safety equipment standards.

Mahindra itself, I can't say a bad word yet, I bought a compact tractor three years ago & I'm not easy on things. Only thing I bent was the loader bucket, tried those bolt down pallet forks & I guess it has more power than the bucket could handle.

The Roxor vehicle is made in India from my understanding from old World War II stampings of the jeep CJ3 design .

I think Kei trucks and vans are a better solution plus they are street legal.

I have been looking into them lately as I ponder what I'm going get after my current car dies in the near future.

Must not be street legal here as is a tractor dealer close by but see no trucks in his line up along the highway. I have stopped there as he has tractor parts an is a helpful dealer when I have JD tractor problems.

I think a 9000lb winch is one of the options I read about.

Said it runs like a scaled ape now. Power and pep like crazy. Put a light bar on it for more lights, a radio, and some gun racks and that is it.

Last week on spring break we were all fishing on the river and it rained so hard on the muddy silty creek bank only that roxor could get down and up. My old '97 tacoma couldn't handle it. Rather than trying to trailer the boats, they just tied all three john boats in a line together and that little roxor toted them right out like nothing.

I've never driven it, but I know the heck and tests my boy puts equipment through. If he says its tough and likes it, then I imagine it is. He grew up in his teen years driving a willis FWIW.

"regen" ? does this rig take def fluid ?
I'm not sure what that means.

Regen is the less complicated version. Def is the version you don't want. Regen is when you have a big catalytic converter on a diesel engine. It pours diesel fuel when the filter starts to plug up and burns it clean. I'm not a diesel engine mechanic, just a fan of diesel engines. I would love to try one of these Mahindra roxors but I need a dealer 10 miles away.
