Another idea is to allow political post in a separate forum, but no user name is attached to the post. If someone identifies themselves or another forum member by name, they get the boot.

Of course moderators could know who's posting.

Great idea, just one word of caution and something I've run afoul of.

Proof any videos or articles prior to posting. While there may be good stuff being said some of the folks we read or listen to can be salty. Salty isn't allowed here whether we say it or link to it.

Would love political forum , i need somewhere to go to for a daily laugh ,, Seen one forum politics 6mon before election and 3 months after , then none after kept the discourse more focused and still let some air their concerns

I am in favor of the political forum concept. As stated, be 100% that a subject is fact instead of hear say before posting.
In the past, i was in a position where many-many issues were sent to me. Turned out several were He said, She said - type of information.
Personally, I would not have a problem with my name being included with a post. I stand behind what I say.

My belief is here any political forum is an exercise in torture !!

Has never worked, some one is always hurt by not having their comments understood
Which always leads to some sort of they said this and other miss-aligned statements

I'm guessing during pro football season only scores can be posted, without discussion, since professional football has become clearly political....

Can James be a moderator on the politics forum?

A moderator is not needed since there can be no replies, which means no arguing.

I can't see how it would be a forum of any pretense, really, it seems to be more of a let off steam expression area, forums are reactionary by replies from others to keep things either moving along or in this case a death knell in a matter of minutes sometimes...I can understand not wanting any replies, but how do you control a continued mass of remarks or additions to a previous statement and not have that be a reply ?

But if any thing just by the replies here show's that it can't be taken seriously !

Folks were saying they come here for their daily news. That forum is to fill that void, not to have a discussion.

Ok, will be watching how it go's, hope the replies don't show up in the regular forums, seems some one always does it !

While I understand the rule it is a shame that we can't discuss politics in a civil manner. The Founders generation were well versed in such matters which led to the creation of this great nation. I guess nowadays with the inability to discuss such matters civilly, and not just on t-man, the opposite will occur. Oh well, at least we have sports.

Can you turn editing on? I don't usually get everything right on the first try.

There's not a toggle for a person to just edit their own posts. The only toggle is for someone to edit any post.

I don’t get too excited it’s mostly lies and opinions but I enjoy seeing how bizarre it all gets twisted at both ends. LOL
