Not enough information to give an answer. Might be some situation where it might be beneficial but there's a whole lot more situations it's not. And honestly without some real testing your not going have a clue whether it helped you or hurt you.

Using it for a waterproof, nonfreezing base is the only use I know for it. It adds absolutely nothing to a lure as far as attraction. To make 1 oz of lure with it as a base you would be using such small amounts of the attractants that measuring them accurately would be a pain. I would go with at least a 16 oz batch minimum.

The whole reason I want to add Vaseline to my lure is for it to be a paste. And its bread & butter muskrat lure so I don't want to fiddle with a liquid with big ol gloves on. I was just thinking of doing 1 oz lure 1 oz Vaseline

I typically use 1 oz of essential oil to 8 oz of Vaseline. It is important to shake or stir until Vaseline sets up again. Setting the container in snow or ice to chill in between shaking speeds up process.
If you don’t continue to combine as it sets it will completely separate!

just make sure you get actual petroleum jelly.. some vasaline is not the same and has a ton of extra ingredients in it like water, alcohol, paraben , wax and so on.. Thats where you get the complaints about Vaseline locking smells and crusting over, etc...

if you bought an ounce of lure dip a q tip in it. don't mess with it. if the lure you bought aint working it might be cause its a sorry lure. there is plenty out there

Try using a food grade lube like superlub.
