I really don't think a federal charge will just be left alone if you don't show up.
Don't shoot any aircraft from the sky.
Call the county and ask if they were doing property surveys, if not then report it to the sheriff.
It will take your picture of you shooting it, don't risk a federal offense.

The attack drone sounds like a good idea though, lol.

The idea of doing some skeet shooting next time it shows up might work, get a hand thrower and have some fun with the kids.

  • You cannot shoot down a drone, even to "protect" your property, (unless it were armed)
  • A fence around your property might give you the same expectation of privacy from the air as from the ground
  • A drone should not be operating within 50ft of your home.
  • The drone must be within line of sight of the operator, so he is reasonably nearby. Watch where the drone goes, or have the Sherriff do it.
  • Once the operator has been located and given notification, any further flights over your property are subject to criminal trespass.
Local regulations vary all over the place; but, above are general expectations. Now, on the other hand you decide to make your own rules; expect the other party to do the same.

I have adopted my own rules of conduct entitled Seven Years of Bad Luck

You can do whatever you want. I am not letting a pervert or thief either one video the inside of my home.
By the time a deputy got here the thief pervert would be in another county. IF the thief pervert calls the law I guess a jury will decide if video invasion of privacy should be tolerated.

P.S. if its the tax assessor he would be driving. Not flying a drone at window level.

I was on a trout trip last spring, my wife called in a tizzy. There was a drone hovering around above our place.

It was late evening, long after normal business hours. I suspected that it belonged to a neighbor that lives about a 1/4 mile away. I shot him a text real quick asking if it belonged to him. He replied that it was his, it was a gift for his kid. I asked him to not fly it over my place, particularly when I'm not home. And also told him that if I seen it in my airspace that I would hand deliver the pieces back to him after it crashed.

He apologized and we haven't seen it since.

Be cool to have a drone with a flame thrower for riot control.

Just like pulling the trigger hunting the last several years. My boys can handle it. Anyone wants to come pick it up is more than welcome. They should get the message to be polite.

My daughter and son-in-law use drones in their real estate business. They don't fly them, they hire a guy to shoot the video they want. I was astounded by the precision flying those things are capable of.

Buzz me once, shame on you. Buzz me twice...

My cousin has a couple crop sprayers used for small plots and fungus control as well as spraying for mosquitoes in the summer time . If I were you I’d get a “ undocumented immigrant “ lol to shoot it down because the laws don’t apply to them

I see no problem, using steel shot and a plugged for three rounds shotgun.
I mean if your gonna take it out, 12 gauge 3 inch #2 or BB steel full choke!
Use steel in case they call them migratory....
