Why does crap like this even make it on the news?

After our local parade all the kids let their balloons go to fly up into the sky. Whoopty freaking doo.

Yep ant then they end up in my pasture. Found 3 different Balloons on my farm in the last several years one had a note from a 10 year old they let them go for his birthday it made it 320 miles. Ya let balloons go it's great funny and a (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) poor idea. No different than throwing trash out on the hwy. Bad for livestock and wildlife.


As a outdoors man you may want to try to discourage that action. It is a big deal to me. Shows lack of intelligence to float trash away for fun on all involved part.

A good friend of mine passed away this past summer and his last wish was to have his ashes sent up into the sky with a bunch of balloons , it was quite a challenge to get that done but it happened anyway .

He was a Army Ranger in Vietnam and loved flying . Rest well Rex !

I wonder where Steinbach Dodges huge balloon wound up? About 12 years ago, the lot boy pulled it down for something and tied it off. It ended up coming loose and getting wedged between the 3 phase lines, it’s obviously not conductive. By the time we set up a bucket and started going up, it popped out and up it went. Could see it for almost 1/2 an hour rising. Lot boy said “well, I may as well follow that thing cuz there goes my job…LOL

There’s no reason to believe this is a Chinese balloon.

If arms to protect sovereignty or rights of Americans becomes a reality the first step is shut down communication. Armed citizens of this country has always been the #1 deterrent to totalitarianism. No or limited communication would make it lots easier.

Ok, so did this balloon just magically go poof and appear over Utah? Somebody must have seen it when it was over our 200 mile limit. Why even let it get to our shore line? Why didn't our military boys just go out for a little plinking/target practice. I used to do it all the time, still do. I'm sure the F16 fly boys could use a little extra practice.

We know the Chinese have sent spy balloons over our territory in the past, and that suggests the possibility that that’s what this might have been too. But it wasn’t.

Unless, of course, it is a random dummy balloon sent by a foreign country to see if we are still paying attention.

They likely want to see this country's response to balloons overhead now for when they send a flotilla of balloons over for an EMP event, prior to some military action? The last one in 2023 (I think) was said to have a 6,000 lb. plus payload capacity. But common sense would dictate that it be brought down in some manner for examination. Especially if there is questions of it's origin, and potential capacity/capability. Sleepy Joe is right on top of things.

I can see your point. I used to go to SD and shoot prairie dogs on farm land. We made sure to pick up all our brass and any other trash laying around.

US government now says the balloon belonged to a amateur balloon hobbyist, there are no links to "chinks" or any other foreigners, and the balloon presents no threat.

And of course the US government would never lie to us!
