Trespasser hunting coyotes. I know who it is and have never been asked permission. I am hesitant to report because if surrounding land owners disagree with my decision, I could lose a lot of my permission to trap. Any advice?

I would just let it go.
Even give him permission if you see him in person. Keep the peace with everyone.
Unless it really bothers you to have him on your land......

TILL THAT DAY.....

Carrying a rifle? If it were me, I would ask him if he had been there and after he answers, show him the picture and let him know how much you don't appreciate it.

I have nothing clever to put here.

No but dogs don't know boundaries so it does happen. Over the years had a few dogs crossing my land trying to find the owners. I waved the trucks in the road into my driveway to safely collect their dogs. These events were far and few between so i do not think they were intentionally hunting my land.

I don’t feel it is any different then shooting a deer on my property and it expiring on my neighbors property. If the property is posted you need to call the LO. 99.9% of the time, access is granted and appreciation is given for the call

That’s what it looks like to me. Tracker in hand and rifle over shoulder.

Understood, but there’s still an obligation to get permission, explain why you need to enter the property.
My opinion is you shouldn’t release dogs unless you have a very high degree of certainty that you have permission to go where they go. Get permission beforehand, buy the land, or run on large tracts of public.
Dogs don’t know boundaries, can’t read signs, etc… is a lame excuse. It is the dog owners responsibility.

Ask him if he has a good dental plan.
If not, tell him to get one cause he will need it next time you catch him poaching on your land.

Confront him and let him know it's fine to run coyotes/ coon after deer season.

Hound people can do a great service for deer management. Just make sure communication is in the cards.

Good trained hounds don't give a crap about deer.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

I guess I should mention that the date this picture was from I did have snares out on my property. That is probably my biggest gripe. I would be the bad guy if that went poorly. He knows I trap because he has turned me down for permission on his property.

So you can't trap his but he can hunt yours? I would approach him with the pictures and watch him squirm.

He’s on your property but you can’t go on his? That’s a game changer imo.

Thank you for the clarification. I have always heard you can retrieve the dog but was unaware that you could not bring the firearm. Good to know.

He “wants to save them for running the dogs, and you have enough areas to trap”. I don’t mind not setting his. I have permissions in all four directions.
