So was asked to drop by nearby Bass Pro Shop to pick up a replacement #32 blade for a 1 1/2 hp Cabela's grinder. An older one that was apparently made by Weston. It is a beast.

So the new and improved blade made in China didn't fit. It was too small and would not fit onto the end of the auger. Things have changed.

My take is when Bass Pro bought out Cabela's, production was moved from Weston and LEM to China. Has anyone bought one lately to know where they are made?

There is a new line of meat processing equipment on the market that is coming out of American Recreational Products called "MEAT your maker". Does anyone know where those are made?

Weston stuff seems hard to come by.

Is LEM still made in Ohio? And will a LEM blade fit the old Weston grinders?

LEM blades might fit, go to their website I think they mention any crossovers...could call and ask too..

Not sure about LEM and Weston, but I thought grinder cutters were standard by size, like a 22 32 and so on and that the center were standard for the size, I’m still a fan of Hobart.

LEM seems to support their older stuff and stock parts they are a meat processing supply business so it makes some sense

Cabela's not so much maybe figuring out who made it for them finds you the parts.

we are probably supposed to buy new when our stuff is 15-20 years old in their opinion

as my son puts it , Cabela's is a credit card company with an outdoors store tied to it and Ditto on BassPro.

that is why they push the card so hard all the time.

Most butcher supplier will have blades for grinders, they are universal for the most part , or were until now I guess.

I see Butcher-Packer, Sausage Maker, Waltons and others are all stocking Pro-Cut grinders. Looks like intended market for those would be small commercial processors or places making sausage to sell. Big price tag on those but might be worth if you knew they were going to be around when you needed them. Or the grinder was made to last forever so if their tent folds up, it won't matter.

I am really down on chinese junk......and places that sell chinese junk.

Meat your maker has been out for quite a few years. They seem to be making quality stuff but I don't know where it is being made.

Pro Cut manufactured in North America, which we later find out means Mexico.......which is not US, but also not China.
