Can't kill anything to save my life half the time but whatever got some exercise, got to enjoy some nature and took some pictures so.

See if you can see the redtail in here . Original flew in and perched right on top of me but when I moved to take the pic he took off
[Linked Image]
Noticed the crows would perch in semi circle around me and the call
[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]
This little deal cuts all the way across this pasture, basically it's own little ecosystem. Dad would drive us down here ever Sunday and let us try and catch frogs tadpoles and what have you

Looks like some old beaver dams there.

Hidden ponds
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

The creek that cuts this property off from the adjacent one. Pretty steep banks but shallow water besides the deep holso in the elbows
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Wonder what was digging here ? Kinda a awkward place
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Something likes crawfish it seems
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Some more various turds
[Linked Image]
Back side of one of those hidden ponds
[Linked Image]

Was about 20yd way from the creek. Probably washed up last big rain. When it rains heavy that creek floods and the entire bottom will be anywhere from a once or two to two foot under water . The beaver on this creek ten to avoid building anything on this stretch. They mainly hold up two miles on either side back off in the deep properties.

I would bet critters have showed up. Stayed in cover and you didn't see them.

Followed the creek a little Norse since it's been a while. Used to like coming down here down the summer and bank pole for bullheads. Was kinda a silly thing but they where like mini flatheads so it was a fun way to get away from the house . But anyhow found this break and trail that I didn't remember
[Linked Image]

Actually was watching some deer yesterday From on top of the hill. Would have been about a 375yd shot and they where eathing right next to my target. Anyhow finally yelled to see where they would go and they took off in this direction. Was kinda confused where they where goin because of the creek but guess there bedded here mabye?
[Linked Image]

Proceed to follow the random new trail like a blonde in a horror movie and found a neat break
[Linked Image]
And apparently this is where a cow died
[Linked Image]
Was gonna take the skull , got a lot of people who like these and I give them as gifts but....had a weird feeling to leave it be so I did.
[Linked Image]

Proceed to walk deeper in to try and see where the deer possibly crossed aaannnd nothing. This was just a little jut out deal so I'm not sure. Gotta say though something about how the water makes things look in these type of creeks is always.... interesting

Also was seeing these little plants in this area and only this little area...they seem a little off

Just keep on following the creek a little. Found another random horn while walking out but no skull
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Most prevalent hole in this part of the creek

[Linked Image]

The bottom of the bottom
[Linked Image]

Old stand. Never been like this since I can remember
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Another section of that little slew from earlier
[Linked Image]

Goes down to this side of the pasture . Used to be a old step dam town this way

Proceed to find the old step dam by step on it front eh sand bar and sinking up to my thigh
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Lil marshy spot in the middle of the field a fella could probably make a spring hole set on one of these
[Linked Image]

Back over the the creek because the wind
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

See what I see ?

[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
And the stand location
[Linked Image]
Think I blend in pretty decent lol
[Linked Image]
And another hawk
[Linked Image]

Seen a lot of people camo painting and putting their calls on small tripods so... I will say I go get more range out of it.
[Linked Image]

45min later and big ole goose egg, as usual
[Linked Image]

Noticed this on my way back by that little slew cross over..random crawfish claw on top of a long with a burnt end. Neat

…. Get yourself a 12 gauge, some high brass #6 and a crow owl fight call … you’ll get to shoot a little

Insert profound nonsense here

Keep at it Wolfie! Don't try to compare your results with those from the western states where they get umpteen responses at nearly every set it seems on the videos. I think I read someplace that in the Midwest it often takes 8-10 stands to get a coyote response.

One of these days you are going to have a big old song dog com in to your call and it will be one of the biggest rushes of your life...then you just need to remember to take off the safety and pull the trigger!

Good luck and most of all have fun!

Thanks for the tour. It reminded me of when I was a kid and didn't have a care in world and spent most of my day in my old stomping grounds just to see what I could see. I need to do more of that now.

Nice woodland walk. I like taking time and seeing the details. It’s amazing what you see just wandering the land. Peaceful.

Periwinkle….some folks call it graveyard grass. It was often planted at old cemeteries, then quickly spread across the landscape.

Yeah was talking with my buddy who's a pretty experienced caller and we talked about that. Calling in the south vs out west aren't the same. Remember asking him about hand calling being better and what he thought. He said " lemme guess the guys telling you that are our west huh ?" To which I said yeah . He nodded and proceed to say that hand calling is an art and good and all but it's on thing where you can see for a half mile all round you out west vs not being able to see more then 10ft in most directions down here. Said he wants the sound away from him because when that bobcat starts coming in you don't want to be the source of the sound. That kind blew my dang mind honestly.

But yeah it's gonna be a while till I get something but I'm fine with thay
