Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Zim and I made a USDA prime rib eye and some steamed lobster claws and served them over asparagus spears, covered with hollandaise sauce, dill and a squeeze of lemon.

YUM! THAT was good! (I also have some flowers and some chocolate dipped strawberries I'll snack on later! grin )

What's for supper at your house?

Have a great evening!

Patrice - looks yummy to the 10th degree.

I - made many of us - have missed your food postings. Please do more. Nessie and others try to take your place but they just don’t have the pizazz that you do. :)/

Lovely times and meals, Chickie.

And yes, the combo of you all and Nessy would be fun. He kills it with his sourdough bread !

Have a fun day.

I did a nice slab of salmon in the cast iron pan while Wonderful Wife made us a couple of world-class salads. We were not sure if she would be able to taste various foods or not, but it turned out great! She could taste the red wine vinegar dressing, avocados, little cucumbers, and of course the salmon. Great night for her for sure. She's been my Valentine for 47 years and we are gearing up for 47 more!

Thanks, Elsmasho82! Your supper sounds nice too!

Oh my, Nessy! Thing of beauty - thanks for the photo! And thank you so much!

Thank you, Wissmiss! I feel guilty for not being on here enough, but I may have a bit more time in the near future. There is certainly no replacing Nessy though! He is a gem and I love to see his suppahs!!!!!

Hugs to you, Sharon! grin

Nice, JoMiBru! Thanks for the photo! I guess great minds think alike. Asparagus, ribeye and seafood for all of us. Those mashers also look nice!

Trappingthomas, by now you must know how much I like a good plastic container or paper plate... if not, you could ask Trapper les or Savell. laugh

Moosetrot, it sounds like you and WW cooked up a masterpiece. Congrats!!!

25 years ago we decided we were never going to go out on valentine's day again , we have gone out before or after some years and many times made nice meals at home.

we broke the trend when my wife saw the Legion was having a roast beef Valentines day phoned ahead last week for a reservation.

yes we were the youngest people in the place but the food was good , the beer very reasonably priced . not overly busy and no frazzled servers working way to many tables.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Way to go, BTLowry. Congrats and wonderful supper!

Ohhh, Scott_aR. Thank you. I can picture that meal and it makes me smile!

Good for you, Pete! Zim and I go out some years with 5:00 reservations to avoid the crowds, or we stay home and make something special. Sounds like things worked out nicely for you two. Congrats!

Too funny, North of 50! We sure did get to Canada last year. In fact, I boned a few of our big fat northern fillets one night last week and made Poor Man's Pike. It was perfect! We have a couple of walleyes left too. grin

Patrice, that's a beautiful plate and a very tasty looking artistically presented meal. Zim is a lucky man.

I made my honey crab leg pasta (fettuccine) with a parsley, onion, tomato and garlic butter sauce
And jumbo shrimp cocktail.

I love my wife with all my heart and soul. We spent a great day together. Valentines Day makes us feel younger.

I went to the local sonic and picked up a couple of foot long coneys and 44 oz. diet limeade and we called that lunch. The day before, we went to the TEXAS ROADHOUSE and had a 12 0z. rib-eye baked potato garden salad with a big "bloomin" onion. Pretty close to what y'all had and probably a little cheaper. (You noticed that I made no reference to the dreaded sour cream). Yep, no more of that valentine day crush for us.
