This, you ain't rebuilt until you do a carb.

Yes, the old quadrajet cards were a pain until you've done a few of them.
There are good options to it though.

If this is a for-run project, my vote goes to o an EK Honda Civic (96-99). They're a dime a dozen, and they're simple little machines.

Don't go with something too old. If being a mechanic is going to be a career, computers will be a part of life. No getting around it.

I gotta say a Yota tacoma. Older the better out of your year choice. Best I had was a 90, followed by a 95. We also had a 98 that wasn't terrible. Thing is, once he rebuilds it, it'll probably last him 20 years. BUT 1995-2004 had faulty frames, so I'd seriously consider 90-94. The frame did rot out in my 95, but the one in the 98 never did. I really don't think you can do wrong with a toyota from 90-94.

1985 straight front axel Toyota 4x4 pickup, 22RE engine.
Super easy engine to rebuild and cheap parts too. Dependable, and it will always be in demand.
