The tone of that dialogue was they were discussing the testing of UV light and possibly disinfectant to see to see if it was successful in humans. You need to go watch the video and see EXACTLY what was said. Anyone should be ok testing different methods of killing a virus as long as it isn't poisonous. That was a weak argument at best.
