Hi everybody! hope y’all’s winter is going well. I’ve had a few injuries that kept me off the Trapline but I’m back out there. This is the first of 4 videos I’ve filmed so far this season. God Bless [video:youtube] https://youtu.be/y-pd1NU3S2A?feature=shared

I found out I’ll need hip surgery some time into the future, but we’ll roll with the punches: Yeah I like the trap. I scooped up a lynx on my Saturday trap check out of that trap. I have 3 Trapline check videos filmed so far. Take care

Welcome back! What happened? I heard nothing about you having any problems......jk Yeah I got airlifted out of Venetie a few days before Christmas and found out later that my chronic back pain hid damage in both hips to the point that I need a double hip replacement. At 35 years old I’m not sure yet how long the process will take to set it up. Lord willing I can find a surgeon that can help without the complete replacement. I never mentioned it on here or really on YouTube either. Maybe I’ll make a post some time here. Thanks for asking my friend. God bless

Thank You. Yeah I was down for awhile but I’ve had traps out for about 3 weeks, just not as many sets as I would normally. But we’ve caught a wolverine, 3 lynx, and 2 marten so far

It’s a 2020 Skandic Wide Track 600 ACE. This wide track has a 20” width It is an electric start only. It is a downside but keep the battery in good contrition and it’s not a problem.

Nice video EG,Looks like you have some good conditions in the bush this year. Oh yeah this depth of snow is perfect for trapping. We warmed up from -65 Fahrenheit on Saturday to -15 this morning, I really can’t complain. Thanks for watching

One of the only trappers I watch/follow. You and Andrew (the Wild North). Great stuff from both of you.
I really like your positivity grounded by faith...even when things aren't going so well. That's not always such an easy thing to do.

Nice share, EG. I hope you find success and relief asap with your pain issue. At least you can now have a plan and goals for this .
The only other guys that young I have known are the rodeo bull riders here ... sports injury treatments have come a long way. You will find a good doc that can help. Thanks. Some time I’ll do a video explaining a bit more but not until I get a second opinion. I appreciate it. God bless

It along with other video's on here says it won't open "must disable "restricted mode". Any help out there on this?

Good stuff! Does your sled keep the battery topped up while you’re driving? Yeah it does really well keeping the battery good and charged. This is the 5th winter with this snow machine and the second battery. I just broke 7000 miles on the last trap check on Saturday. When I left out on the line it was -50 in a few hours it dropped to -65. My ride did just fine out there. The seat was a bit stiff lol

I just hit 6000 (800 miles are mine) on my 2012 Tundra 550 LT. I like the Skandic except the weight. When I bought mine I was looking for a Skandic or Tundra, 2 or 4 stroke. All the adds I responded to, the guy said it’s sold, I gotta remove the add. Hard to find. Check out this guys channel. He’s right up there with you, northern trapper & 330 maniac but he’s a bit of a wingnut……lol [video:youtube] https://youtube.com/shorts/WnkHf6rVqVg

Do you keep it inside at home? I've heard several people say they don't start cold in temps like that. I have a 2023 900 ACE and it sits on my trailer behind my truck out in the driveway at night. It got down to -28 here a couple weeks ago (that is really cold for this country) and after a thirty mile ride down the highway in the morning I didn't think it was going to start, fired right up, but just barely turned over. No it’s outside all but a couple times trough the winter to change oil and melt the ice buildup. I have an engine block heater that can warm it up enough for a safe start up down to -55. Any colder than that I have to put a space heater to it for a while. As long as the machine doesn’t set off alarms when started your just fine. Even if it does let it run for 10 seconds shut it off then start it up again and usually the engine will have warmed enough that and check engine warnings will have cleared.hope you have a successful season out ther.

Worked great for hi, that long track could really reach down into the snow. Some don’t like how narrow the stance of the skis are but it’s awesome for old narrow trails. Thanks! I just subbed his channel. Haha just hilarious
