I have the cast mb-650. I absolutely like them so far. They hold coyotes and bobcats well. The cast jaws have a rougher surface which I believe will hold better than the smooth jaws even with OL or IL. This ^ I would call it a "textured" surface and smooth edges. I will say that the mass and size isn't kind to smaller footed canines plus the offset is a touch too wide as well for fox.

I would go with cast. But if you with steel get them laminated. I have done my #3 Bridgers and really like them.

Buy the cheapest traps you can use for bobcats and coyotes. Duke #3 would do. I’d only use beefy traps for Wolves.

Cast jaws are cooler looking, no other advantage to them. Prove me wrong. I don’t know diddly squat about anything but I feel they are cooler looking too! I almost WANNA put my hand in one 550s are not to bad to get your hand in. I wouldn't suggest a 4coil 650 I hear they have very strong springs.
