Been watching some videos about making felt to make your own hat. Think it would be pretty cool to create a hat from scratch like that. How many beavers you think I would have to pluck to get 4 oz of underfur?

Not many. I used to shear muskrat and mink and sell the fur to fly tiers. I’d get close to an ounce from one rat.

I must have tossed away a truckload of felt hats.
When I brush my beaver pelts the brush will be full of underfur from the nailholes around the edge
