Was wondering what people used to keep urine from freezing?

I also have some of dobbins bait solution and suggestions for using it correctly?

Im new to making my own lures/baits and am interested in learning.

As for the urine, start with 2 cups of glycerin to a gallon jug,and fill it up full of urine. Thats a good starting place. As the winter gets colder, you may want to double that recipe.

Couple things I do is put urine in freezer for 24 hour or wait for cold day and about half the urine will turn to slush and the rest will be liquid. I pour of the liquid. It will have a lower freezing point and be stronger smelling but in real cold Temps it will still freeze.
I'll also add salt to urine to lower freezing point. Again thought even with salt added in extreme cold it can still freeze up on you.

Carry it in your shirt pocket or the inside pocket of your coat. It just needs to be thawed enough to get out of the bottle, it is fine if it freezes after it's applied. I sometimes carry it in the little dash glovebox thingy on my Skandic, the heat coming off the motor will keep it unthawed.

For cold weather: To a good quality, clean and "fixed" urine mix 1 part glycerin to 3 parts urine. The glycerin will not only lower the freeze point of the mix but will also help slow the rate of evaporation.

Pure P. Glycol freezes at - 74 Fahrenheit.

30 percent of P Glycol per volume or water will be good to -10 degrees Fahrenheit give or take.

Pure Glycerin freezes around -36 degrees Fahrenheit.

Blended with water that freeze temperature will change depending on the mixed amount placed into the water-based material.

I don't use salt, as urine already has an attraction to livestock, deer and rabbits. If not many of those animals are present to a large degree, you should be good.

What is a “fixed” urine? How do I fix my freshly collected Lynx urine?

GOOD urine doesn’t need anything.

Good urine is still very usable down in the single digits. In my experience adding anti freezes, im not buying myself much room and just diluting the product and wasting money.

We just came through -20 to -40 air temps. Keep it in the truck and in a pocket when out and about.
