I recently watched a video about using pens for Lynx. The pen showed in the video had two snares, one at each entrance. I assume this would work great for bobcats however a quick search didn’t turn up much.
Anyone use this type of set? I feel it would be a great set without much equipment on a backpack style line.
Any thoughts? I’d appreciate any info or pictures if people use this set specifically for bobcat.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like a walk through style set bait in the middle two snares one on each entrance I'm sure it would work I know I've heard of guys using that set with footholds maybe put a feather or some attractor in the middle also with the bait I'd make sure the bait is hanging there same height as the snares are too..not just thrown on the ground

It works,I caught a bobcat at a lynx snare jackpot this year.

Thanks for the replies. I live in a spot where a fairly long line can be done and the lightweight options of snares seem ideal. After seeing the video it surprised me I couldn’t find more people using that type of set for bobcats.

Do a search for Bobcat Cubby Sets.
There are plenty of good snare-men in states that allow it.

I know of a couple guys that would use those sets on a backpack type line like you mention. They caught a few cats over the years but really didn't have much success. Possibly because Idaho is a no exposed bait state and a large visible bait would be best for this set? Using large baits that you have to pack in pretty much eliminates the weight advantage of snares.

I believe double end snare pens will work for bobcats as well as lynx. Just adjust the height and
loop snare size for bobcats. Just make sure the cat looks thru the double cubby at the cubby attractor like looking thru a scope.

I have a pen built and pretty good size. It has 3 entrances. All I have caught in mine is coyote. Snares are in the entrances. I know bobcat have been in and out of it when I don't have cables hanging. With catching coyote the whole thing needs to be very natural. Mine is built with old evergreens that went down and were drug into place amongst thick standing evergreens. I then cut holes for the entrances. After this winter probably need to get in there and do some fixing. Have caught one coyote the really destroyed one opening. With coyote don't plan catching many there. They seem to learn quite fast.
