When we got married, my wife used her grandmother's ring, $0. I had a $50 tungsten ring.

Now both rings are gone, and we have ring tattoos that cost $50 each

The first ring I bought her cost a lot. But we bought Deer Antler rings for each other a few years ago. They have fake diamonds but look great and for every day use you can't beat them. She wears hers every day and I only put mine on when we go out or to a function.

Wolfdog,
A while back i done a lot of research on wedding rings. In order to stay under $800 forget a diamond.
Cheap yellow diamonds look terrible. I would suggest a 14 carat gold band.
You can get one for less than $800 ... I am sure she would be Happy with it.
*
Good Luck ...... I am in the same place but I will get what she wants.

43 years ago I spent about $100 on my wifes ring. She spent about $25 for my band. The $100 was ring and engagement ring. grin

When I asked her we went to a Jewelry store and she picked hers out. The first was a one Carat now after 20 years she has a 2.5 Carat.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

The ring I bought was FAR cheaper than the divorce!

I have nothing clever to put here.

Go with her when she picks out what she will be happy with. Worked for me 48 years ago.

I was lucky, the woman didn't were jewelry because of her work, and I didn't either because of my work.

A simple gold ring suited her and I didn't get one. Now that she's retired, she wears it but I don't see one in my future

My wife saw the wedding set she liked when she was 17 in a pawn shop. It inter locked and had .26 cart diamond with great clarity and one minor inclusion. I bought it for 250. Now I'm 43 so it's seen a while back.

She no longer wears it it lost the diamond and her hands swell. Getting dirt out of it when she is in the garden was a pain for her. Now she uses a silicone band.

I got a simple 10k comfort fit yellow gold band. Quit wearing that when I neatly had an accident at work becuse of it. [Linked Image]

Had this done 12 years or so back. It works. Not needed at all.

Yeah told her I'm just going to get one of those rubber band ones too. Personally don't like wearing jewelry and can't really wear a ring due to my job so, kinda like the tattoo idea but there's supposed to be some bad juju around that eek

But many say the cost of divorce was worth it.

He picked out his own tungsten band and I got a cobalt one. I think each were around 90 bucks.
We also did a self uniting ceremony; or Quaker Marriage as it’s legal in PA and some other states. Had fried chicken and cole slaw and a little cake with my mom and my aunt as witnesses to the marriage.

Now I was a bit older than you when I got married. I took my wife to be. We bought our engagement and wedding rings as a set.
I was 38 at the time. My price was way off by a couple grand. But my bride had her heart set on a ring design.

We just celebrated 20 yrs. Best investment I ever made. Wish you the best young man.

There's no juju involved with marriage, ring tattoos or otherwise. There's just hard work and love, and an understanding that love is an action and not an emotion.

No beer keg or band? That is the best part of the wedding.
