This is just a feeler as to where the ducks are. I know of someone who went to SE Missouri and right across the line in Kentucky and had no ducks. Are they still in the Dakotas or Canada??

I do know they’re killing Bull Sprigs and Snow White Wigeon here in SWGA right now which is not normal at all!

Yesterday, I drove by a small lake just North of and viewable from I70, near Enon, Ohio, that had many hundreds of ducks on it.

Saw a large flock on the way to town yesterday. Looked like black ducks maybe 150ish rare for superior this time of year but this is the first time I have ever seen bare ground this time of the year in my life. Usually 2feet on the ground by now.

Killing them pretty regularly in Southern Illinois 15 minutes from the Kentucky border. I'm about an hour from SeMO though.

This region has been nothing but 55° and Zero wind up until this week. Makes for very poor waterfowling. No big pushes of new ducks. This is how it's been the last couple of years.

Here in the lower Chesapeake Bay area it’s been real spotty the last couple seasons…most waterfowl is still posted up north…why travel south if the northern feeding and resting areas are still open.

Still had some spots with big numbers of mallards here in SD last week, but I’m guessing this big storm system will push most of those birds out. Never felt like the bird numbers were as high here during peak migration as what we are used to.

North Missouri closed yesterday.
Very odd season here. Big push of ducks in late October and not another noticeable push of new ducks the rest of the fall. Still a ton of birds here. No ice and the season closed, I can’t imagine them leaving anytime soon. We had a decent season, certainly not our best. We killed 931 ducks off of our property.

Pretty slow sw ar. Killing some ducks, but it is a variety - teal, gadwall, wood ducks, ringnecks and a very few mallards. I know a guy who owns 100 acres green timber in AR delta and has not killed a duck this year.

Yup, that is great waterfowl hunting weather! They spend less time loafing and more time feeding when it's cold - keeps them moving around more.

That is the case here in SeWi .
We still have 100s of Mallards on the river out back, that's usually frozen or partially on the banks where they can feed.
The lakes and sloughs get skim ice and push them to the river.
With all the rain lately water levels are up, providing more feed.
I really don't see them moving unless there's a big freeze.
Also, our season ended Dec 3rd so there is no hunting pressure.

Speaking of a weird season , as some have mentioned, I was out shooting my bow on Christmas day. During windy lulls, I was hearing Sandhill cranes passing over. Very unusual. They're normally all well past us by now.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but I saw 2 robins on Christmas day in Lake County, Il.

They are in west TN but it has been a slow season, it's warm and our drought has left a lot of fields dry and unable to be flooded. Teal and Gadwalls have been fairly steady on the rivers and plenty of geese taken on the farm ponds with layout blinds in middle TN.

Sandhills are going over today with this north wind. I saw a small flock of mallards and blacks going into a ditch that has water crests in it. They are always there late in the season, but it's 46, a drought, so I am sure they are 50 miles north where there are big lakes and open water to raft up on.
