Lee is correct. We will be in North Central Kansas. I agree with you about the people. We are going back there for the sixth time and al lot of it has to do with the great people we have met there!

That’s the area I used to turkey hunt! Seen plenty of coons, coyotes, and skunks back years ago. Even ran into a badger. Good luck!!

Couple hours away from there.

I had a little setback in my trip preparation but I am back at it again. A couple days of fever and loss of taste kept me on the couch but I am up again checking things off my list. The cough still lingers and will probably be around a while but I feel I will be good to go!

What do you do for a place to stay, trailer, rent a place??

The people that have us out there to trap run an outfitting business. We stay in the lodge their clients stay in.

Nice! That's always been a major concern for me. Not that I need much but one does need a warm/dry place to get a good night's rest.

How did your first day of setting go?What kind of weather did you have,good luck,look forward to riding along your adventure.

The first day started out great as the temps were below freezing. There is residual snow on the ground which is nice to see sign but it is limiting our travel. as soon as it gets above freezing we are inable to drive on many roads and properties.

I use a 4 wheeler so I dont rut up property. Same for dirt roads. Get to the dirt road on gravel then unload it. Those dirt roads only get a maintainer once or twice a year. People dont like them rutted up either. Side by sides are popular for the same reason. I built a trailer out of an old boat trailer. Can load or unload in less than 5 minutes.

First Check day and second set day. The ground thawing each day is putting a damper on our ability to set traps. We aquired a couple more large parcels to trap today so hopefully we can get to them before the daily thaw.

I'll be out that way south of you here in a couple days, not staying nearly as long though.
