Hi Everyone, I was recently going through some old traps and came across this one. It appears to be a newhouse with a blake and lamb pan on it. There was a section of newhouse flatlink chain wired to it. Any thoughts on what it would be, did B&L make a trap like this? Thank you for your time .

You are correct, it is a #14 Newhouse with a Blake and Lamb pan. It is a trapper modification.

When changing parts on a collector trap, be sure to use the correct parts for the time period of the trap. This may take some doing and time to find the right parts, but will be worth it when done. Judging by the thin jaw post nuts, casting marks on the underside of the jaws and springs, this trap should have the small pan #4 shown below. And, for the chain it should have the heavy cast figure 8 chain with the round, eye, swivel.

Thank you. That was a lot of info that I wasn't aware of. Is there a Newhouse book out there that shows all this information? Thank You for your time.
