Any help identifying this trap manufacturer… the chain (that I regretfully didn’t get a picture of) is similar to a heavy version of what I’ve seen on a lot of authentic Newhouses. I believe this is a model that had a detachable trigger. Recently picked this up and would love to acquire the appropriate trigger for it. Thanks for any help or opinions you can offer!

I would try cutting a stick slightly shorter than the jaw spread.
If it stays set, that's your trigger. Just my 2cents. I could be wrong.
