I've chewed up plantain and made a poultice. Didn't stop it
Vinegar
Tea trea oil
Cortisone 10
Calamine lotion
Ivarest.

Soap and water helps for an hour

Still blistering

What's your cure?

Acetone or Clorox. Scrub infected area hard with it and let dry in the sun. Burns, but dries it up

If it is spreading bad, go to doctor or Er get a shot , it will stop itching and dry up quickly.

I've gotten poison ivy a lot as a kid. Tried many prescription remedy.

Best thing I've used is the juice from an Aloe Vera plant. Apply 2X. It works.

Of note , not a fan of home remedies. But it works and the swelling goes right down.

It is an odd deal for sure. I have never gotten it and am exposed all the time. Just today was weed eating the stuff. Wife brushes it and gets it pretty good. Only shot/medicine will help her.

Time is the only cure I’ve found.Day 6 or 7 it starts to heal and itch more but if you can keep from itching it will fade away in a few more days.Good luck and stay cool.

Jewel Weed if growing naturally in your area. Usually it grows in damp moist shaded areas in these parts. All the stream banks and hillsides have loads of it here. They sell a jewel weed soap I keep on hand here all the time for me and neighbors. Usually after batheing two - days it is about gone.

wash the area with dawn dish soap to remove any plant oils left

then hydrocortisone cream

in my case my body way over reacts to it so prednisone is the answer and that can take a month

once the blisters start breaking it is a toss up if you treat it for the infection it will become or the rash it is

I start with the hydrocortisone till it starts to look red then start treating it like the infection

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Tablespoon Epsom salt in a glass of warm water. Chug it down, helps to hold your nose. Nasty stuff. It'll clear you up and clean you out.

It's also good to soak in for relief.

Fortunately, I've developed a pretty good immunity and haven't had to resort to Epsom salt in years.

Spray form ok?

Or does it have to be the scrub?

I just started getting ten years ago after 50 years of being able to roll in it without an itch.

I found its best to avoid if at all possible, if not wash real good with soap asap. Its an oil that gets on ya so wash it off asap.

Opposite

Used to get it bad as a kid. Whole face with swollen shut eyelids a few times. Worst was big water blisters between toes with mama insisting on wearing shoes to church.

Then it got to be one spring outbreak and good for the year.

Last patch I got was about the size of a pea maybe ten years ago.
