Saw Tooth OP trapper S Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 16 Central Minnesota	I'm not trying to start a debate on duke and MB but nowhere in the archives I found anyone talk about how the duke has a 3/4" bigger jaw spread and @ $50 less per dozen it makes for a tough decision just sayin

scheide trapper S Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 1,404 nebraska	Just measured a Duke 550. Inside is 4 7/8". Outside is 5 5/8". And there is nothing wrong with the duke 550. Very strong, stout trap. Built like a tank. Have not had any issues with mine. And way cheaper than the other brand.

I don't know where you are seeing them advertised as 5 1/2" inside, but you need to take it up with that supplier as Duke does not claim that.
