Lots of folks are miserable at managing their money too. Maybe the government should take over money management for people? Oh wait, they are!!

Prior to the 20th century the trick in life was to get to age 25. If you could live to see age 25, surviving childhood diseases, ladies dying during labor, being conscripted into wars... you could well live to see age 70 & 80's. The average life span was still less than 50 because many didn't get to age 25. It was the decade 100 years ago that life span in America skyrocketed; the 1920's.
100 years later, humans are much smarter some say. RIght. Now-a-days, many among us live as if they prefer to kill themselves with all manner of bad health choices because there isn't much worry about childhood diseases, women dying during labor, or war. So party on.
The OP asks to be educated on drugs. There's been endless education about drugs since Woodstock and the winner is: glorification. And it has ruined many a poor boy and girl and everything around them. It still is. Legalize it or don't, I don't think either side will be happy how it turns out. But America is headed to decriminalizing many things so we'll see how the responsible patrons react. Time will tell. I argue, it already is in many areas.
Blessings, Mark

Grease kills more people than alcohol. Outlaw grease. Alcohol is part of our Northern European heritage and culture. Quit with the cancel culture BS. If you want to cancel something cancel the muzlim middle east african drugs culture.

I wish they would outlaw alcohol so we could get back to moonshining and bootleggin'. These drug dealers are driving some mighty fine wheels around town.

The only reason teens ( I have one) are not smoking tobacco now is because of the readily available drugs that are destroying our nation. Tobacco doesn’t alter their state of mind and isn’t nearly strong enough for them. Legalizing will only make it easier for them to attain. It’s not the thrill they are after anymore, it’s the high. Wake up

I would think it wouldnt be any easier than going to school with 50 bucks and buying whatever drug you wanted from who ever is selling them. If your teen is in high school you can safely bet every nickel in your checking account that teen knows where to get drugs.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

bowhunter, you keep referring to the problems caused by drugs. No one is denying that.
Let's discuss the problems caused by prohibition.
We have a classic example of cause and effect in the problems caused by the Volstad Act.

Moral and spiritual decay is really the main issue....I see that a lot of so called conservatives are for legalization of controlled substances/pot. Seems logical that those folks are users....alcohol is also a big bad negative imo. But, the reality is that probably well more than 1/2 the population is a regular drug/alcohol abuser. Abuser = daily usage. E-Z to relax using mood altering substances/alcohol vs learning to just relax and enjoy what is important in life, that my opinion from my perspective, does not make it the right opinion for anyone but me thou.....so do what you want as long as you do not effect me. When I have to watch you shoot up/poo/pee/pass out in public your effecting me and lots of others....that should not be allowed but not only is it allowed (and more than that is allowed) but it is funded with tax money so the scum in office can get easily re-elected.
This country is really finished and I see no changes coming, only more of the same and actually worse than what we have no on the horizon.....get to a high spot and you should be able to see it.

Marty, Yep. Moral and spiritual decay is ramping up and now we're a nation where increasingly people are excited to "speak out" from any roof top they can climb up on. What a fine thing to be liberated from! Morals and spirituality. How's that going for the good old US of A this last century? Rosy? More of the same outta be more rosy, don't you figure?
One of the greatest lies in humanism in this, the richest nation on the planet, is that "What they do doesn't effect me. I don't care." That's hog wash. Poppy poo. Patently false in any societal network and the legions are smiling as we say it.
What we all do certainly effects each other. From the way we act, to the way we interact, to the society we construct around us. Keep believing the hippie mantra of "do your own thing" but don't count me in that shallow wade pool. I live among people. I work among people. I deal with people. I have family who are people. Do you?
So can we stop saying, what other people do doesn't matter to me? Sure it does. Oh but wait, that might mean bringing in a baseline of morality! Wouldn't wanna judge. Another lie. You don't have to be the judge as you promote morals. The Judge has already spoken. Only ones I see on the wicked news broadcasts day after precious day are enemies of the Judge.
Besides, show me a person who doesn't have a baseline of wrong and right and I'll show you a person with no baseline pulse.
Blessings, Mark

Spent the Week in Seattle. I was amazed how many street people there were. Most of them looked like they had mental disorders while other were most likely drug addicts. I do not know much about drugs but have a few questions. I saw a couple heating up a whitish powder in aluminum foil then sniffing up the fumes. There were a number of others that were heating up small pipes then sucking in the fumes? Any idea what sort of drugs that they were using? I forgot to mention. When walking by one group of them two came up and punched me for no reason. I was more worried about my wife so we just moved on. It was not worth hitting them back. Both of the ones that punched me looked like walking zombies. So sad.

Be careful with that philosophy, which could easily be turned in support of banning trapping, depending on who's doing the judging.
