I have been finding two versions, does anybody have any information on the Wigginton "Mouse Exterminator" Glass Mouse "Trap"?

Colorless non-lead glass; mold-blown. Cylindrical shape with one end open and the other closed; ring near open end; V-shape indentation on one side of glass opposite bulge in other side; embossed on side, "MOUSE/EXTERMINATOR/MFG. & SOLD B/N.J. WIGGINTON/WINCHESTER, VA./PAT. JULY 30, 1918"; circular end is embossed with an illegible letter in a square perhaps a "C" or an "O". Patented as an Animal Exterminator, No. 1,274,123, filed Sept. 2, 1917, approved July 30, 1918. Inventor: Newton J. Wigginton, of Opequon, Virginia.

In picture #1, the open end has no rib or collar and is embossed on the top. Picture #2, open end has a rib or collar and is embossed on the bottom. They are different? My guess would be the one in picture #1 is the earlier model? Picture #2 maybe a modified/improved model, the glass seems heavier and the rib added for strength and durability? Is one version more collectable or more valuable than the other? Does it even matter?

I am no expert but I do know a bit about these. You are correct in the order they were made. Also there is a third model. It is made of plastic, and is called the MOUSE-ATERIA. The second picture is the most common. I would say the first model with the wire is worth $40 the second $35 and the plastic one $10-$15. You just don't see the first an third model very often. There is an article in the Traps magazine #186 June 2016.

I did picked up an Orchard Mouse Destroyer in the Trap Shed, $35 shipped. It is in pristine condition, something different too. I would like to see the Mouse Ateria also.
