Ok, I was planning on getting those and 450s The 450s are awesome too. I have more of those than 550s. If there’s coon in your area I recommend the closed cast jaw.

I was going to get the offset jaws because when I am bored I stick my hand in traps. Have Bridger #2 that have a wolf gang earth anchor on them LOL Welcome to the forum Duckhunter! Watch out for Leftlane!

Ok, I was planning on getting those and 450s I would have to recommend a #2 trap (550) at least, over a 1.5 (450) because the jaw spread is a little small for coyotes, don't get me wrong you will catch coyotes but a 1.5 won't hold one for long. They can break a 1/8 quick link open, and its takes like around 200-250lbs of force I think to break them, that's a a lot! I'm not sure of the coyotes in your area but in my area they get to be 40-50 pounds or so, but I would rather get the #2 for specifically coyotes, but I have a bunch of 1.5's because i'm more likely to catch a coon or possum anyhow when I set for them, so its up to you but that's what I think.

I agree. Any other time, I would not recommend a 1.5 sized trap for coyote. However, the 450s are built like a tank and are super strong. If you don’t mind the smaller jaw spread, they will serve you well. Coyotes grow big here, and they still don’t get out of the 450s. Not your normal 1.5s. I would rather use 550s, but the 450s have no problem holding them.

They are really good traps. You can catch muskrats to coyotes in them. A bit pricey for sure, but worth it in my opinion.
