Will S hooks work or is a quick link or snap link better?
Ever have an S hook straightened by a coyote?
I've got some Mighty S hooks from MTP I was going to use.
How necessary are the S hook tools, and do you recommend the standard or heavy duty one?

S hooks will work but I think the quick links are faster for changind out a snare after a catch, a pair of fence pliers are what I use for S hooks and J hooks.

If you have a loop on your earth anchor and a loop on your snare, you can connect them together without using anything else.

I use the snap links to attach all my snares to cable stakes for the simple fact that it is alot easier and faster then changing them out then any other method. I use j-hooks right out of the swivel for all my cable stakes.

Use a swivle of some kind between the snare and stake. If you hook them solid they can unwind the cable and break it.
