I typically don't pin the nose, and usually don't have any problems. Must be the way I skin them.

When I get one that the nose wants to slip, I just use a beaver nail to hold it. I also don't get too excited about taking my rats off the stretchers till I run out and I have about 500 stretchers. Always do above average on my rats... That’s because you trap winter rats😬
