I picked up a sod pan #2 at an auction today. It is in average shape as far as rust goes and the chain is complete. It is the type that has tabs you bend up to hold the sod. I have seen the type that has the corners bent up but not this style (sorry, no pics yet). Can anyone shed some history on the different type sod pans and approx. value? Thanks.

The trap and pan you describe is called a SOD PATTERN. Price guide value is $25-40. The smaller offset pan model with the corners turned up is called a MILKS PATTERN and valued at $35-75. These traps were made from the 1920's-1940's.

I appreciate the info. To my knowledge there is the milks pattern, a more modern version with the edge corners bent up, and one (mine) with corner tabs punched in.
