I got two young roosters for my hens yesterday and they're just learning to crow, and them and my bluetick like to have yelling matches. She woke me up this morning because she was inside yelling through the door. I hope this doesn't last long

Trapping is easy you say? You try getting your target animal to step in a 3 inch area of its whole territory.

get up and spray her with a water hose. don't use a no bark collar unless you want to hunt her with no collar of any kind not even your name and phone # on it. dog is not likely to quit barking on its own

I've trained my last 4 dogs not to bark with those lemon squeeze bulbs.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

I had a pup that the guy before me must of used to do that with a hose. Made her funny about water. crossing streams, creeks, etc... She'd hang up and tree on the bank where it crossed. Drag her across and she'd take the track. She'd even get half skidish just filling her water bowl. But that isn't the case most the time. Just her hang up. They all have something.

A lot of guys use shock collars. I can see how someone could have a bad experience with them. That doesn't mean it ruins all dogs either. Usually it can be big and bright orange or something and the dog can associate just it with barking... and not ALL collars. I could see where some could though. I don't think thats the case most of the time either though.

Do you just squirt them with it when they bark?

Both hands around the muzzle for 2 seconds and yell shut up...only do that when their barking/ howling for no reason and only shut the muzzle quickly then let go.

One of the basic concepts in retriever training is that the timing of the correction is tremendously important. While I’m no dog whisperer I think this concept would apply to all dog training. If you can make the correction the instant the dog barks the dog will associate the correction with the barking. Otherwise it is just as likely to associate the correction with standing in that particular spot.

Ball peen hammer is quieter and won't wake the neighbors.

I go with the 330 guy, dog associates a shut muzzle with "shut up"; or try keeping the rooster in the house too so they can talk without shouting.

The only thing if you hunt with that hound do you not want it to bark then? My beagle likes to run off and chase bunnies she knows it's wrong (the way she heads back to the house when I catch up to her) LOL So if she did not bark I'd have a harder time finding her so it's a thin line on how to go about it.

I got her for hunting but didn't train her in time so now she's just a house dog that doesn't shut up lol

I had a second hand dog that had been bark collared and it was 5-6 years after I got her that she barked the first time for any reason, she would just whimper when she wanted to bark, no matter what the reason. I'd not do that to any dog.
