Has a new set of brass offset jaws, which it never came with from the factory and new jaw posts, with a pitted non patent date pan, which is wrong for the #3 with offset jaws and teeth, it should have a patent date pan, two different spring stamps on the springs, has a cast 8 chain which is an earlier chain set up than what would have come with the #3 Newhouse with offset jaws, also looks like the trap has been waxed, which will hide the fact the nuts have been turned on the base.
This guy has to be stopped, he is ruining trap collecting!!! IMO

This post was originally intended as a warning to potential collectors that an item listed on ebay might not be an original old trap and the OP listed a number of specific features that are not correct for an original trap. The thread that developed expanded to include harsh criticism of a person who is not a member of trapperman and thus could not defend himself and the remainder of the thread has been removed.
