were all the Victor 91's double jaw. Just picked up a box full of collectable traps and some of them are questionable including this one. The trap I am talking about has the Victor 91 pan but it is not double jaw.

Pretty sure the 91s were supposed to have double jaws. It may be possible it was made that way. I think sometimes the factory workers would just slap stuff together with whatever parts were in reach.

I also got a 1 1/2 D Victor coil spring that isn't double jaw either. It is a pinch pan but round.?.

The #91 was always a double jaw. But, Animal Trap Comp. of America bought out several other trap companies and having lots of parts of traps that they were discontinuing, the parts were assembled to use them up. I have seen #1 and #1 1/2 long spring bases with jump trap jaws and off brand long springs. Some of these traps have Victor #91 pans, some have Victor giant and Diamond pans. These are called mystery barrel traps, sold by Taylor in the 1930's.

The round (oval) pan is Victors first model pinch pan. Maybe even one of their first coilspring traps? Could be the oval pans were left over Gibbs stock. Your trap should have double jaws. Check to see if there are little square holes in the jaws, maybe the add on jaws fell out or got removed.

no holes or any marks where there would have been double jaws in the 1 1/2. The trap is in very good shape. Somebody replace the pan ?? I don't know. Is there any value to the 91 without double jaws? Or is it just decoration.....
