What size stretcher wire you using on them possums?

Every use them old catfish skinning plyers to pull the hide tight? I really like them better than plyers to start the pull on the legs on tough coons.

Good show PB. Usually once I have an op that has the hair comming through the back, if it is to bad, I trash can them. I have sold a bunch of those typ for less than 50 cents. Good Vid.

Did you do anything to the head area and ears, or was the coon just prety clear of cartilage up at he top?

ADC,I got some older possum-skunk strechers that are a bit longer than the new ones I bought,they are smaller than a #4 strecher.
Hupurest,mabe try to do a fox put up vidio,but I have no fox to skin,pulling fox hides out of the freezer.Just got done putting 40 on strechers,and got 50 more thawed out to put on strechers when im done typing.
Tmrschesse,HOW in the world did you find that on youtube?My son tryied putting it on youtube,and after 3 hours of waiting,we gave up,I guess it down laoded after that,musta took all day.
Don,I our eary possums show the hair through the hide,but I don't usually know it till I start fleshing.During season I just skin,and freeze.I figure since im that far into that animal,may as well finish the job,even if it sells for 10 cents.
Did a winter caught groundhog last year,and it brought 10 cents at our distric auction.The buyer gave it back to me this summer cause he could not sell it.I still got the stupid thing.

Gary,I do my mink on boards also.I like the looks of the coon on boards,and think I get a little more length from them on boards.
Mr8point,I don't spend time on the head cause I don't think it makes any difference in the price,at least for the time spent.Unless it has a big blood clot on the head,or a hunk of meat.
