Happy First Day of Winter!

Just got back on the net after a cable line repair. A squirrel chewed through the wires. All the lines had to be replaced from the junction box into the house.

That squirrel had to go ! Glad you're up and running, Jonathan. Be careful in the storms .

See you on the surface.

No - not this week, but I do have an older photo of one somewhere on the cable line by the utility pole. I'll look for it .

Just a bit of junk cable I kept. The technician took a bunch to recycle - standard for the job, unless the customer wants it. I can put a few pieces of the wires to use as needed for cobbling. grin

Thank you, 330. According to the Spectrum tech who fixed my connection, glitch outages like that one are more common than I would have ever guessed.

Here is a photo of a squirrel taken at that same junction box on the utility pole at the end of my driveway in January 2012. That one was harvested soon later that day when closer hanging from my suet feeder by the brush piles.

The plastic they use in the cable is vegetable based now so the squirrels have more of a nippling taster response.
The cable goes for 15 cents a pound at the scrap yards
