While looking at the stats for Tman, I ran across the part that shows where links were make to Tman. I found this one interesting. It appears to be a Russian trappers forum. http://hunting-club.org/forum/index.php?/forum/31-trapping/

I used this translation page to help understand what they were discussing - https://www.bing.com/search?q=russian+to...;pc=EUPP_MATBJS

That's pretty cool Paul.

It's funny... The translator nails it perfectly sometimes. Other times not so much.

Peeler I don't know how but it would automatically translate... Maybe it was somehow tied in with Paul's translator link.

Some of the posts were pretty clear and easy to read. Others were hilariously incorrect.

That's really neat. I remember my uncle made the trip to Russia in 1980s and got to exchange trapping techniques, equipment and so forth with the russian delegation to do same. He brought back some really neat traps pretty crude by our standards but neat to see what they had to use over there.
Whole group of American trappers went and I thought it was pretty neat to see my uncle in that group too.

jabNE, thats cool on your uncle traveling to Russian and mixing with Russian trappers, i applied to go on that trip but whoever was in charge never replied to my request. I believe Tom Krause wrote story on the trip the USA trappers took. If i remember right they ate alot of horse meat and everyone liked it. The worst food was in civilization in Russian hotels.... LOL.

Back in the early 80's we had a guy come to our high school. He had written a book (don't remember the name) about the USSR. He was in Russia doing research and since he was American, the KGB had his room bugged. He said that it was really obvious, you could see wires going up the wall to light fixtures that did not operate the light and things of that nature. Anyway, whenever they wanted something they would talk about how much Russia sucked privately in their room. The next day the items would suddenly appear. For instance they wanted ice cream once at dinner so the said in the room how much Russia sucked and how they were so backwards they didn't even have ice cream in the country. BAM, the next night ice cream at dinner....LOL...

That was put on by the NTA. I wanted to go so bad, but had a young family and really couldn't afford to take that money out of the family budget! I've always regreted not going on that trip, it was a once in a lifetime adventure! They had another, prolly ten years later that went to Africa, but I wasn't interested in going there!
