my teeth...

actually, a pair of pliers(to spin the rebar) and the trap it hooked to,i clamp the trap over the nut on the top and use it as a handle, works purty good for me, lotta rocky ground here, especially round the water.

I use a gruben hoe I use the flat side for rebar and for cable stakes I put the point of the other side in the loop or quick link.

way too much effort here.......take another stake and drive it down about halfway right next to your original at the exact same angle... pull the second stake...grab the chain of the trap and give it a yank sideways toward the new hole, then yank back the other way and pull it right out with a steady straight up pull
its thatttttttttttttttt easy

pick axe with flat side, cheap, easy and use it to break up the soil some if need be.

I tried the vise grip method on six traps yesterday. It worked like a charm. Much easier than prying with a crowbar, and the vise grips can be carried in a back pocket. Anyone who hasn't tried vise grips should give them a try.

Paul,,, That stake is a smooth one.I happen to have more rebar than smooth ones. But to tell you the truth I notice no differance in them . I suppose you are thinking they won't hold as well.Only fox here so they work well.
