You're asking about an employment agreement where the pay is a commission....rather than a salary or hourly wage.

I'm not sure about Dave but I have never had a complaint about our pay checks. ( Other than there is never enough money ) When

someone is hired, he is told that he will receive a percent of the gross he makes every week. And that is exactly what we pay him. If

there is a late night emergency, we might tell him that he will get half and to mark it down. And then we pay him half for that

particular job. It's probably very easy bookkeeping and I see no reason to have it down in black and white. It's pretty hard for

either side to cheat.

California law Paul. Commission agreements are a,must.

I am also trying to really build a good company. One that if I ever decide to sell t her will be structure and something there besides senile rambling. You're lucky though Paul, most of your employees are kin and can make out the ramblings.

Throw Back, maybe you should rethink the whole idea of hiring someone or maybe moving to another state. California really sucks. We

don't have any sales commissions because we've already sold the job. Our employees get paid a commission on what they do. And to be

perfectly honest, the thought of having to pay them to go to gin mills and strip clubs doesn't really appeal to me, but I suppose in

California it is the law. Thanks Dave. That was great reading.

California is a tough, tough place to do business Paul. I thank NWCOA for their insurance program, because everywhere else would cost me almost double for liability.

And my work comp? Wow, that was a shock. I did rethink having an employee, but long run, its going to pay off (Or ruin me!).

I have lived elsewhere. Lived in South Dakota for 7 years, I love the midwest, traveled half of the US. But, California needs me. Someone has to stay and fight the good fight. It really is beautiful country up in the foothils. Im 1.5 hours from Reno. Its home to me now, Paul, and just like you wouldnt leave yours, I cant just leave mine.

Like the Cobra Skulls say "May country love it or leave it, thats spit and I dont believe it"

I will do my best to keep the loonies from moving east tho Paul. Right now theres another petition to have the state split. I would live in the new State of Jefferson, and we will try to push the loonies down to the great state of Fienstien.

On a side note paul, the great part about youth is I have plenty of time to run my business into the ground, go bankrupt, ruin my life and start all over again in wisconsin!

Okay Throw Back, I have to admit that I've never visited California but from what I've been told the north and the south are as

different as night and day. I have hunted South Dakota and I loved it but I don't think ADC work would go over real big there. If you

have a chance, we should be in Las Vegas in January. Maybe we could all meet at the seminar. I would really enjoy putting a face on

all you guys.

I want to be there Paul, if I can afford it I will. Right now the business is spending money as fast as I can make it.

I added a tech, which in itself was a huge expense, but is allowing me to grow without as much fear, and have a few hours with the family still.

I keep getting big jobs, and they all seem to be ground squirrels. I though you were nuts paul when you said you had 200 squirrel cages, but now I wish I had them.

So I have been dumping money into gear almost everyday to keep up and pushing my advertising so it doesnt drop off. Maybe soon I will get to actually keep some money!

Seems to be. The market seems to change every time I think I have what I need.

It should level out in theory. . . . right?

I have found that if you keep your ulcers flooded with an adult beverage, you will not die of ulcers. You will probably die from the adult beverages however.
