I have two Pioneer #2 coil springs in very good shape.
Clean, readable pans.
Do they have any collector value or should I use them?
Can you give me some background on Pioneer traps?

Also, I have two Montgomery #2 Step-In, coil springs.
Great shape, strong springs. Clean, readable pans. I don't think they had much use.
A friend wants to buy them and I want to sell.
What's a fair asking price?

Thank you.

Pioneer traps made on Taiwan from 1979 to 1981 for a company based in Portland, Oregon.

The early models could be either a dog on or dog less model, interchangeable. The later models had a humped cross piece like Victor traps.

Collector value is minimal, maybe $15.00 at the most on the early model in super good condition.

Montgomery value would be $9.00 to $12.00, depending the jaws and the height of the levers.

And contrary to popular belief, Pioneer made conibears in 110, 120, 220 and 330 also.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Thank you.

My Pioneer traps do look like Victors #2's with dog on.
Pan clearly marked TAIWAN. Portland, Oregon.

Thanks again, you folks are a wealth of knowledge.
Hern
