I bought these from a guy that was selling off some of his hunting collectibles.

I understand that Walter Arnold was one of the original founders of the Maine Trapper Assn but cannot find to much on him
Im sure some of you guys know lots about this guy!

Walter L. Arnold 1893-1980

The bottom of the can says Mason Box Co. Attleboro, Mass and are still in business today!

I know that these books/magazines are still common from what I can find!
Hunter Trader Trapper "1910 VOL XXI" and "1914 Vol. XXVII No. 6"

You might try posting this on the Trap Collectors Forum. That is where a lot of the guys that know about old stuff hang out.

Walter Arnold was a true pioneer in the lure making industry. I cannot recall the years he was in business and would have to look it up. He was a very story teller and wrote several articles over his many years. I have two old additions of books he wrote. Oscar Cronk bought him out and I believe he learned a lot from Arnold. I was lucky enough to meet and talk to Mr. Arnold a couple of times. Very nice man.
Used to use several of the Arnold formulas that Cronk made with good success.

Lure bottles shown are from the 1930s-1940s. I had a bunch of Mr. Arnold's lures around here years ago. Always liked his Triple-X lure. Oscar Cronk bought Arnold's business around 1960. Someone had a copy of Walter Arnold's book "The Northland Trapper" on ebay this week. It sold today for over $60. It is the same book as his "Professional Trapping" book; just different title and published a few years earlier. Walter Arnold put out some good lures, and wrote some good articles for Fur-Fish-Game over the years.
