I joined Trapperman after lurking for a while in the shadows. I have learned a ton on here which got me into trapping as I don't know anyone local to teach me. So anyway, I have been trying to think of a way to contribute here and a couple months back came up with the idea to make all the NAFA board sizes into templates anyone could print out and make accurately sized boards without a bunch of layout work.

All you have to do is print these out on regular 8 1/2 x 11 paper cut out each piece and tape them together to form a correctly sized board. I didn't do the beaver boards though as there are already templates out there for those. When you do print, make sure your printer is not set to fit it to the paper, but to print it to scale. If you scale it, it will be off.

All you have to do is click on the link and it will let you download the pdf of each stretcher board. Some will have a diagram showing how they go together and others if they could fit on a single sheet width wise should print out in order.

If there was a range of sizing numbers I made a small, medium and large. The small will be the lowest number, the medium will split the numbers range in half, the large will be the biggest number.

That's a great idea. I had been photocopying them from the NAFA fur handling guide and then trying to enlarge them using the zoom feature on the photo copier. This will be much easier.

Thanks

I tried that for about half a minute before I quickly decided to open up solidworks and get to drawing them all out and making these. I originally just made the ones I wanted but then they worked so well I just started doing a couple a day until I got them all done.

Suggestion for an improvement?

Add the thickness the board should be smile maybe on the base of the template?

On the eastern raccoon boards, the numbers on the assembly diagram are a mirror image of the way they should actually lay out (unless I did something wrong which is entirely possible). If the diagram says 1 should go above 2, it is actually that 2 should go above 1, if that makes sense. Not a big deal though, easy to figure out.

This was a great idea and a huge help. Thanks for posting.
