How long did it take you to skin 3 wolves? You must have a strong set of mitts on you to do them all in one night. Do you have a puller of some kind set up?

No kidding, I skinned out two the other night, peeled them out of skulls, feet, and tails, and man did my hands hurt!
Beautiful country and wolves. Thanks for the ride JR.

I started at 7pm and went to bed at 1:30am. Had dinner in there some time. Just peeled them and left the feet in 2 of them. Skun out the feet on the other two the next morn before breakfast. I don't have a puller but will have a winch set up out there next trip. I broke my rope-ratchet that I've used for years. Good thing as it wasn't the smart way by any means but it worked. Just got done putting one wolf on the stretcher. Will do the rest tomorrow. I love trapping and putting up wolves but dang they are a lot of work compared to doing marten.

I hear ya on the work that those big dogs take.
After turning my last two I was wishing I had four more to do. Such is wolf trapping.

It just so happens I have 4 more to do tomorrow if you need something to do..... Can always use the help. Gave a fleshing and boarding demonstration tonight for a new trapper so that was fun.

Is your WT a 600 ACE?

Both the WT and the Tundra are 600 Ace. Was talking with your partner about his Expedition 900 Ace. He said he really likes it and it will walk on water pulling a sled.

For whatever reason, the 600's won't start as easy as the 900's in cold weather. Mine started at -38.6 below. It was ugly, but it started...

Awesome! Those doubles are nice to pull up to for sure! I love driving up to the top of passes and seeing mountain tops, nothing like it.
Keep it up Bud!

If it was easy, everybody would be doing it!

I use a 12" cabin spike with a 1/2' nut welded to the head for a test stake. If the spot provides catches then I use a 18" piece of #5 rebar with a nut welded on the top of it for permanent stakes. I put a short piece of chain and swivel on each stake so all I have to do is use a quick link to attach the trap. I have these drove in all over the country out there.

I use several different cameras on the line. Here is 3 of them. The little yellow one gets the most use and is a Fuji XP, fits in my pocket and is with me at all times. The giant heavy one is a Canon EOS with a 50-500mm lens, this camera has been with me on a lot of adventures and used mainly for wildlife pics, some scenery and close ups. The last one is a new camera and just getting used to it. It is a Nikon Coolpix P900. It has got more zoom than my Canon and weighs less than half the weight. This Nikon may replace the Canon very soon.
