Okay Dave and Justin, I DO wear gloves when handling bats. Besides trying to show customers the proper handling procedures, some of those little suckers are rabid.

Now raccoons is another matter. First of all we have never had a raccoon test positive for rabies in Wisconsin. Pulling up enough fat and fur so they can't turn around inside their skin is tough enough bare-handed. Besides, stuff like that probably only happens once every five years. The truth is, the worst raccoon bite I ever received was from a raccoon in a cage in my truck. How my hand ever wondered through that wire, I still don't know. A normal raccoon bite is not as severe as the bite I got from my grandson. ( and yes, I nailed him and we have never had another episode )

P.S. I was bitten by a gray squirrel twenty years ago and that was the last time I let something with teeth that grow, get close enough to me. You don't even feel it until the blood starts spurting and the air hits it.

I think he was just working with the camera on!
I'm sure if we all had cameras on us we would
Get cought doing things we probably shouldn't! I
Personally wouldn't have gotten down the ladder
Back to truck and put gloves on. Nor would I gotten
Down to find something batter than the first or only
Thing in my pocket!
When a guy is In the working mode and has ten diff
Jobs on his mind one of the last things we are going to
Think of are the things you pointed out!

Hey K.C. I hear ya there! Lately what I've been doing is wearing a hunting vest with a game bag backwards, and tying it shut behind me with twine. I can carry all the stuff I need in the pouch and pockets. On flatter roofs I still use a tool box with a strap, but the vest I can drape over a steep pitch like saddle bags. It saves me trips up and down the ladder.

Justin, you beat me by 5 minutes and 12 seconds but good work! Now you're starting to think like a real professional; me or Vinke.
