That is not a trillim. It is a arum or what I call a green Dragon. Some people say it is indian turnip, but it is not. Indian turnip is jack in the pulpit and that is not a jack.
Trillium has 3 leaves.

Thanks don I was aware that it wasn't a trillium but it was in a patch of them was just curious. I've been hunting roots a few years now and I have found just about every companion plant of the elusive seng but have never found any. Thought I may have got lucky. Is there a use for this green dragon? Thanks

The root has the same properties as Jack in the Pulpit. You might be able to sell them along with jacks. They must be sliced up to dry.
